Safety Jacket. A non-alcoholic West Coast IPA. 0.4% ABV, which is close enough to zero that the math barely matters.
Green Cheek Beer Co built this with Mosaic hops and says they worked hard on it. Believable. Non-alcoholic IPA is a difficult category. No alcohol to carry weight or smooth out rough edges, nowhere for a thin recipe to hide. This one is clear, bitter in the correct proportions, and full of the hop character the style is supposed to deliver in the first place. Cactus cooler. Zesty citrus. A fair amount of what the brewery calls fresh Mary Jane, which at 0.4% is doing a lot of atmospheric work and no actual work at all.
Orange, California's Green Cheek isn't treating this as a consolation prize tacked onto the bottom of a tap list. It's positioned like a real release, same attention, same care, just less consequence the next morning.
Fourteen dollars a four-pack. Available now.
Drink it because you want a West Coast IPA. Not because you're apologizing for anything.
